Matt Karres

Colonel (Retired) Matt Karres served in the US Army for 24 years. During his career he held numerous positions in 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) to include as an SFODA Commander, Company Commander and Battalion Operations Officer, and as the Deputy Commanding Officer. He also served as the Chief of Staff of the 1st Special Forces Command prior to retirement. Matt has numerous deployments to Africa, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He holds a BA in History from The Citadel, and an MS in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School and an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Warfare in Newport, RI.
