Friends of 3rd SFG,

It is with deep sorrow that I must inform you of an incident that occurred on 22 January 2019, while B CO was conducting combat operations in Afghanistan.  ODA 3123 came under enemy fire while conducting a clearing operation.  SFC Joshua "Zach" Beale, the Detachment Weapons Sergeant, paid the ultimate sacrifice during this engagement with hostile forces.  SFC Beale's primary next of kin have been notified.  I ask that each of you keep Zach's wife and two daughters in your thoughts and prayers, along with the soldiers and families of B Company, who have experienced heavy loss and grief in a short span of time.

Please keep your thoughts and prayers with the Beale family during this time of hardship.  And as always, thank you for you continued support to our 3rd Group warriors and families.
